H&M Use Computer Generated Models. . .

H&M have been charged for using computer-generated model bodies for showcasing their swimwear and lingerie collection on their website (http://www.hm.com/ie/)!!

This is a totally new idea for me and to be honest I am not sure whether I am for or against it. H&M when shooting their campaigns use mannequins to photograph the clothes and then they 'humanize' them. They then shoot real models and superimpose their heads onto these computer generate bodies.

It is an interesting way of shooting a campaigns although I don't know whether it will catch on elsewhere? The images created lack the movement and personality that is captured when shooting a real person! Take the below image, sure these women are perfect looking but there is a kind of spooky feeling I get when looking at the image as well, although I will never know is this just because I know the secret behind these perfect bodies!

Although then again maybe it is for the greater good if women have no way they can compare themselves to these super beautiful bodies we see in fashion campaigns worldwide. If women see these images simply as they see mannequins in a shop would this help to stop some of this obsession everyone feels to look 'perfect'?  I don't know but what I do know is H&M is trying something a little different, to my knowledge no other retail clothing brand are using this method to shoot there campaigns, at least not currently anyway!!

The inauguration of Michael D Higgins as ninth President of Ireland.

If I am to start blogging on newsworthy news stories then what better way to start than to comment on todays biggest event, The inauguration of Michael D Higgins as ninth President of Ireland.

I don't know about you but I for one am delighted to see Michael D Higgins enter Áras an Uachtaráin today. After an extremely long and drawn out campaign I can say with no doubt in my mind that Michael D is the best candidate for the job, not that the competition was that great!

It must be amazing, hearing your name announced as the next President of Ireland. What a feeling. I know people always say that the President of Ireland doesn't really do anything but I don't think that is true, they are the face, the voice and the figure head of the country and they represent our fair Isle in many different countries gaining us friends and hopefully leading to some job creation!!  . . Fingers crossed on that front or next September I could be reading the RTE website from a very different perspective.

Welcome to your one stop shop of newsworthy news stories!

If you are like me and like the thought of reading a newspaper but never make it to the point of ACTUALLY reading the paper then, I have a solution!

I shall post news stories, comments and hopefully pictures on a range of topics, helping you to stay in touch with the world.

No more of this. . . .
